Explore the Majestic Highlands of Iceland: Guided Tour of Landmannalaugar
Discover the breathtaking beauty of Iceland’s highlands on a guided tour of Landmannalaugar which are known as one of Iceland’s most remarkable geological wonders. The area is full of popular trails, natural hot springs and multi-colored mountains. Here is possible to take a short hike and then enjoy the geothermal pool to relax afterwards.
Tour highlights:
-
Hjálparfoss: where the two rivers Þjórsá and Fossá meet in a stunning waterfall.
-
Háifoss: is the third highest waterfall in Iceland or 122 meters high and you will get the change to see the waterfall from above. It is a beautiful sight down a deep gorge.
-
Gjáin: Gjáin is one of Iceland's natural gems. In this lava area you will find beautiful columnar basalt and volcanic tuff which create spectacular formations.
-
Sigöldufoss: The waterfall was once part of a mighty glacial river but because of technological changes a hydroelectric power plant was located not far upstream in 1978 so the waterfall flow is rather gentle today.
-
Hnausapollur: Puddle of deep blue color formed in an eruption in 871, few years before Iceland's first settlers reportedly arrived.
Please note, highland roads are closed from October 15 to June 1. During this period, we offer an alternative itinerary to ensure you still experience other wonderful spots of Iceland’s landscapes.
